Walmart Retail Built In-House Police Station To Fight Against Crime

The retail market industry is now been facing some challenges after the post-pandemic situation. Loss Prevention Magazine recently conducted a retail workplace survey where employees reported some acts of violence over the past few years.

Now Walmart is facing curb crime in its stores because of the statement of closing its 22 stores by mid-2023 because of some safety concerns. 

however, Walmart is reopening one of its closed stores and renovating and adding a pharmacy, grocery, and police station in the store in Atlanta’s Vine City neighborhood. The police station inside the store helps them fight against crime, increases security, and makes customers and staff safe.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens told the outlet, 

“After talking with the Merchants Association on MLK and Clark University and other people in the neighborhood, folks were saying they want to see more police presence”.

In an interview with CNBC, Walmart CEO Doug McMillion said the issue of theft is very old and they are trying to prevent it at any cost. Adding a police station is the key to fight against the problem.
