Friday Commerce Ministry of India decided to conduct a monthly workshop on how to promote exports through E-commerce platforms. The main motive is to create awareness and give lessons on the ways to promote exports in a modern way through e-commerce.
In that workshop, they talked about rules and regulations related to e-commerce and other online product-selling platforms. Also, there will be a live demo on the process of promoting exports and skill development lessons for the promotion of exports through e-commerce platforms.
According to a trade notice of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, “In this regard, monthly workshops on e-commerce exports are proposed by this directorate”.
Global Trade Research Initiative said in its report, that India is planning to achieve $350 billion in 2023 by exporting goods through e-commerce platforms. The government also supports this target and creates separate policies regarding this.
The current values and numbers of India’s exports are far below their potential. Less than 0.5% of the country’s total goods exports that worth $2 billion which is so low if we consider the potential of India.
