Computer systems at all of the resort’s properties have been shuttered for the foreseeable future. MGM Resorts International is coordinating with outside cybersecurity experts to address the cybersecurity issues that have affected some of the casino operator’s systems, according to a release obtained by USA Today.
While the scope of the breach has yet to be determined, current guests are documenting the outage on social media to share how it has affected ATMs, slots, and restaurants, and how guests are unable to use digital keys to access their rooms or charge any items to their rooms, TechCrunch reported.
In a statement, the company said,
We also notified law enforcement and took prompt action to protect our systems and data, including shutting down certain systems. Our investigation is ongoing, and we are working diligently to determine the nature and scope of the matter,
